At Chase Meadow Opticians we provide a very thorough and detailed contact lens process. We begin at the consultation phase to determine your needs and lifestyle in order to determine what lenses would work best for you.  

We would then order trial lenses and provide follow on appointments to ensure the vision is clear and contact lens fit is optimal .

There are two main types of contact lenses: soft and rigid gas permeable (RGP). Soft lenses are the most popular, as they are more comfortable and easier to wear than RGP lenses. They are made from a soft, flexible plastic that conforms to the shape of the eye. Soft lenses come in a variety of types, including:

1. Daily Disposable: These lenses are worn once and then thrown away. They are a great choice for people who have allergies or who don't  want the hassle of cleaning and storing their lenses.
2. Weekly or Monthly Disposable: These lenses are worn for a specified period before being discarded. They require cleaning and storing each day. This can be a cost effective option for longer wear times.
3. Extended Wear: These lenses can be worn for up to a week without removal. They require careful cleaning and monitoring to prevent eye infections.

  The Optometrist will assess your contact lens requirements and fit the best contact lenses based on your spectacle prescription, eye health, preferred wear time and lifestyle. 

A contact lens teach will also be performed to advise how to insert and remove the contact lenses and how to look after the lenses. You can then take these trial contact lenses home to try for 1-2 weeks. 

If you are happy with the contact lenses, we will complete contact lens specification at your final contact lens appointment. You will then be able to buy your contact lenses! 

When purchasing 12 months supply of contact lenses, we include free an annual contact lens aftercare appointments and 25% discount on selected spectacles.

Our contact lens aftercare service provides you with a detailed assessment of all aspects of contact lens wear. We will assess the contact lens fit, comfort and vision and perform a detailed check of your eye health. We will also provide professional guidance on the best contact lens type for your specific wear time and lifestyle needs and how to best care for your contact lenses .
