Hearing Care in Warwick

See clearly. Hear confidently. Stay connected.

Call To Book a Hearing Test

We often think about looking after our eyesight, but our hearing deserves the same attention.

Hearing changes can happen gradually. You may not suddenly notice that your hearing has changed. Instead, conversations may become a little harder to follow, the television may slowly creep louder, or busy restaurants and family gatherings may start to feel more tiring than they used to.

At Chase Meadow Opticians, we believe looking after your senses should be simple.

That is why we have partnered with The Hearing Care Partnership to provide professional hearing care from our independent Warwick practice.

You can now look after your sight and hearing in one familiar local setting, with hearing assessments carried out by qualified hearing care professionals.

Ready to check your hearing?

Simply call Chase Meadow Opticians on 01926 494 400 and our team will help arrange the most appropriate hearing appointment for you.

Your Hearing Matters More Than You May Realise

Hearing is about much more than volume.

It helps us take part in conversations, enjoy time with family and friends, communicate confidently at work and remain connected to the world around us.

And hearing loss is far more common than many people realise.

Hearing Services at Chase Meadow Opticians

DID YOU KNOW?

18 million+
More than 18 million adults in the UK have hearing loss.

55+
More than half of people aged 55 and over have hearing loss.

70+
Almost 80% of people over the age of 70 have hearing loss.

Because hearing often changes gradually, it can be easy to adapt without realising how much you are missing.

A hearing assessment provides a clear picture of your current hearing health and gives you the opportunity to ask questions, understand your results and decide whether any further support would be useful.

Noticed a Change in Your Hearing?

You do not need to be struggling significantly before having your hearing checked.

Consider arranging a hearing assessment if you have noticed that:

  • people sometimes seem to mumble
  • you ask people to repeat themselves more often
  • you find conversations difficult when several people are speaking
  • restaurants, parties or busy environments have become harder to follow
  • you turn the television or radio up higher than other people prefer
  • telephone conversations are becoming more difficult
  • you can hear someone speaking but cannot always make out the words
  • listening feels more tiring than it used to
  • family members have mentioned that your hearing may have changed

Sometimes other people notice changes in our hearing before we do.

If you are unsure, a hearing assessment is an easy place to start.

Call Chase Meadow Opticians on 01926 494 400 to arrange your appointment.

We Offer Free Hearing Tests

What Happens During a Hearing Assessment?

Hearing assessments at Chase Meadow Opticians are provided in partnership with The Hearing Care Partnership and are available free of charge for adults.

Rather than using the same appointment for everyone, different levels of hearing assessment are available depending on your age, symptoms and hearing concerns.

Initial Hearing Test – approximately 30 minutes

A useful starting point for adults wanting a routine check of their hearing.

Your appointment can include a discussion about your hearing, an ear-health examination and hearing screening.

Complete Hearing Test – approximately 60 minutes

A more detailed hearing assessment, particularly suitable for people aged 55+ or anyone wanting a more comprehensive understanding of their hearing.

This may include assessment of your hearing thresholds and middle-ear function together with a detailed discussion about situations in which you find hearing difficult.

Ultimate Hearing Test – approximately 90 minutes

The most comprehensive hearing assessment.

This can be particularly useful for adults aged 65+, people who already have hearing concerns or anyone who would like a more detailed understanding of how their hearing performs in everyday listening environments.

You do not need to decide which assessment to book yourself.

Call our Chase Meadow Opticians team on 01926 494 400, tell us a little about what you have noticed, and we can arrange the appropriate hearing appointment for you or email us below and we can give you a call.

What Happens During a Hearing Assessment?

Hearing Aids – Technology Built Around Your Life

What Happens During a Hearing Assessment?

Your hearing appointment is about understanding you, rather than simply producing a hearing-test result.

Your hearing care professional will take time to discuss your hearing, your general ear health and any situations in which you have noticed difficulties.

Depending on the type of assessment required, testing may include:

  • examination of the ear canals and eardrums
  • hearing screening
  • pure-tone audiometry
  • middle-ear testing such as tympanometry
  • speech or listening assessments
  • discussion about how your hearing affects everyday situations

Once your assessment has been completed, your results will be explained clearly.

If your hearing is within the expected range, you will have a useful baseline against which future changes can be monitored.

If hearing loss is identified, your hearing care professional will explain the findings and discuss the options available to you.

There is no obligation to purchase hearing aids following your assessment.

Hearing Aids – Technology Built Around Your Life

Modern hearing aids have changed considerably.

Today's technology can be remarkably small and discreet while providing sophisticated sound processing designed to make everyday listening easier.

But choosing a hearing aid should never simply be about choosing the newest or most expensive technology.

The right solution depends on:

your hearing loss, your lifestyle, the environments in which you want to hear better, the technology you are comfortable using and your individual priorities.

Through our partnership with The Hearing Care Partnership, patients have access to hearing technology from leading manufacturers rather than being restricted to one particular hearing-aid brand.

If hearing aids are recommended, your audiologist will explain the options clearly so that you can make an informed decision.

Ongoing hearing care and aftercare are also an important part of your hearing journey.

Ear Wax Removal in Warwick

Hearing Aids – Technology Built Around Your Life

Hearing Aids – Technology Built Around Your Life

Blocked ears can make sounds feel muffled, create a feeling of fullness and sometimes significantly affect hearing.

Excess ear wax is common and, when appropriate, can be professionally removed.

The Hearing Care Partnership offers several methods of wax removal depending on what is safest and most appropriate for your ears, including:

  • micro suction
  • water irrigation
  • manual removal

An ear-wax removal appointment usually takes around 30 minutes.

If you think wax may be affecting your hearing, call Chase Meadow Opticians on 01926 494 400 and we can advise you about arranging an appointment.

Tinnitus Support

Tinnitus can be experienced as ringing, buzzing, humming, hissing or another sound when there is no external source producing it.

For some people it is occasional and barely noticeable. For others it can have a much greater impact on concentration, sleep and everyday life.

The Hearing Care Partnership provides tinnitus consultations designed to help you understand your symptoms and discuss strategies that may help you manage them.

If you are experiencing tinnitus and would like to speak to a hearing care professional, contact Chase Meadow Opticians on 01926 494 400.

Protecting Your Hearing

Hearing care is not only about identifying hearing loss.

Protecting the hearing you have is equally important.

Custom hearing protection may be suitable for people exposed to significant noise through:

  • work
  • music
  • motorsport
  • shooting
  • swimming
  • hobbies and recreational activities

Custom-made hearing protection can be designed specifically for your ears, providing a comfortable and more secure fit than many standard alternatives.

Please call us if you would like to discuss hearing protection.

Personalised Advice

Hearing is individual.

The aim is not simply to identify whether hearing loss exists, but to understand how your hearing affects your life and what, if anything, would help.

No Pressure

A hearing assessment does not mean you are committing to hearing aids.

The first step is simply understanding your hearing.

Your Eyes Have Regular Checks. When Did You Last Check Your Hearing?

Your Eyes Have Regular Checks. When Did You Last Check Your Hearing?

Many of us know when our next eye examination is due.

Far fewer people can remember when they last had their hearing checked.

If it has been several years — or you have never had a hearing assessment at all — now may be a good time to establish your hearing baseline.

A simple conversation with our team is all it takes to get started.
